Central Boulevard second graders in Barbara Cataldi and Erika Lemaire’s class recently celebrated National First Responders Day by inviting some local heroes into their classroom! The students presented them with a certificate, sang a first responders song and gave them a display of thank you jokes to bring back to their unit. One student also read a poem of appreciation. It was a great day!

This week, students throughout the district celebrated Red Ribbon Week. Red Ribbon Week is the country’s largest and longest-running drug-use prevention campaign. Members of John F. Kennedy Middle School’s National Junior Honor Society visited Charles Campagne and members of Bethpage High School’s SADD Club visited Central Boulevard and Kramer Lane. The middle and high school students stopped by fourth and fifth grade classes to discuss the importance of mental and physical health.

Fourth graders from Central Boulevard, Charles Campagne, and Kramer Lane recently visited Bethpage State Park as part of their science unit. Various sections of Bethpage State Park were explored, including the picnic area, golf course and newly created Discovery Center!

It was a special evening as the Bethpage Educational Foundation held its annual Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony and Dinner on Oct. 21 in the Bethpage High School gymnasium. The Bethpage Hall of Fame recognizes the great achievements of Bethpage alumni and staff, and this year, seven individuals and one team had the honor of being inducted. Congratulations to the following inductees:
