About Us

Bethpage Schools has initiated the Bethpage Academy of Technology, which provides a unique curriculum offering for high school students. The Academy of Technology is built around a core of classes that places computer technology at the center of learning. Students enrolled in Academy of Technology courses are required to meet rigorous standards in a technology-rich environment.

Corporate/Community Partners

The success of the Bethpage Academy of Technology is linked to our successful partnerships with corporate and community leaders. Our partners have made donations of hardware and software, have mentored Bethpage students, have visited and talked to classes about careers and cutting edge technology, and have offered advice on planning our future. Among the partners involved already are:

Advanced Certification

Students enrolled in the Bethpage Academy of Technology must complete all the requirements for a New York State Regents Diploma as outlined by the New York Board of Regents. In addition, students in Grade 8 are encouraged to develop a four-year education plan, which will allow them to meet the requirements of the Academy of Technology.

Certification from the Academy of Technology also requires a student portfolio documenting their use and understanding of technology throughout high school. A final presentation must be made to a Technology Review Panel (comprised of faculty, administrators, and corporate partners). Students will be encouraged, but not required to enroll in an internship program with a corporate partner.
