Bethpage Union Free School District

Students in Bethpage High School's Orchestra and Band attended a matinee performance by the New York Philharmonic on Friday, January 12, 2024 at David Geffen Hall in New York City. The featured soloist was Hilary Hahn, who performed Prokofiev's Violin Concerto No. 1. Hilary Hahn is one of the top violin soloists in the world and was in top form for the performance. She received a standing ovation and treated the audience to an encore performance of a partita by J.S. Bach after the Prokofiev concerto. Students had a great time exploring the newly renovated concert hall and enjoyed drinks and snacks at the new cafe. Special thanks to Dr. Kay, Ms. Kovacs, Ms. Papetti, and Mr. LaSpina for chaperoning the trip!
