As part of their science unit, Grade 4 students had a memorable time examining our local ecosystem, Bethpage State Park. Various sections of the park were explored, including the Picnic area, Golf course, and “Discovery Center” (which has over 100 flora species, all labeled with identifying signage to familiarize students with different native plants). A big thank you to the Bethpage Park ecologists which educated our students on how our park is an important biological community full of wildlife, greenery, and ponds that provide ecosystem services to the local suburban area and its inhabitants.
