I am excited to announce that the District has been able to find a new Community Based Organization partnership to run the NYS Grant funded UPK program for the 2024-25 school year. Last evening, the Board of Education enthusiastically approved the contract with our new partner, the Heart and Mind STEM Center in Hicksville located in the old Our Lady of Mercy school building. We have visited this location and they are all set and ready to go for next Fall. Enrollment will be determined by a lottery but we are thrilled to announce that we have secured 108 seats to be made available at this time for Bethpage students. Funding for the program will be through a New York State grant, so there is no cost to families.
Children of district residents who will be 4 years old on or before December 1, 2024, and will be eligible to enter Kindergarten in September 2025, may participate in the lottery. The deadline for this lottery entry form is Friday, March 22, 2024 by 12 p.m. The lottery drawing will take place on Monday, March 25, 2024 at 3 p.m. in the BHS auditorium.
Parents will be notified through email by Wednesday, March 27, 2024, if their child has been selected for the program or if he/she has been placed on the waitlist. If selected, parents will need to complete the registration process by the deadline of Thursday, April 18, 2024 by 3p.m.
