Robotics season is in full swing as we host the FIRST LEGO League kickoff event at CBS all weekend. Great support from our students, staff and families in action.
CCS classes worked together to read as many minutes as possible during November for PARP for a chance to pie Mrs. Ivers and Mrs. Inghilterra live on Wake Up CCS! Special thanks to Ms. Gallagher, Ms. Paraskakis and the TV club team for their enthusiasm and cooperation! Congrats to Cole and Emma for being the lucky students! The show was awesome. Great job!
CCS welcomed Christopher Agostino who presented Story Faces to our students. He told stories while painting the faces of some very lucky students. He spoke about the importance of storytelling and it tied perfectly into PARP month!

Third grade students at CCS learning about being dreamers and leaders through Achieve3000. Students had the opportunity to engage with interactive digital tools designed to support vocabulary acquisition and comprehension skills.

As part of their science unit, Grade 4 students had a memorable time examining our local ecosystem, Bethpage State Park. Various sections of the park were explored, including the Picnic area, Golf course, and “Discovery Center” (which has over 100 flora species, all labeled with identifying signage to familiarize students with different native plants).
A big thank you to the Bethpage Park ecologists which educated our students on how our park is an important biological community full of wildlife, greenery, and ponds that provide ecosystem services to the local suburban area and its inhabitants.
CCS celebrated Unity Day today! We always remember the importance of kindness, inclusion and acceptance to prevent bullying. 🧡

Grades 3, 4, and 5 teachers from all Bethpage Elementary Schools had a great experience getting together to share curriculum ideas and train using the new LEGO Spike Essentials kits in the STEM Labs.
