It was such a busy and fun Red Ribbon week at CBS!

Bethpage High School Students' SADD Club visited our 4th and 5th graders today to discuss making healthy choices for their bodies and minds. They listened to the story "The Reflection in Me" and wrote and drew mirror mantras—powerful messages to end our week!

As part of their science unit, Grade 4 students had a memorable time examining our local ecosystem, Bethpage State Park. Various sections of the park were explored, including the Picnic area, Golf course, and “Discovery Center” (which has over 100 flora species, all labeled with identifying signage to familiarize students with different native plants).
A big thank you to the Bethpage Park ecologists which educated our students on how our park is an important biological community full of wildlife, greenery, and ponds that provide ecosystem services to the local suburban area and its inhabitants.

Grades 3, 4, and 5 teachers from all Bethpage Elementary Schools had a great experience getting together to share curriculum ideas and train using the new LEGO Spike Essentials kits in the STEM Labs.

Bethpage Grade 4 students had a great time exploring different "waves" in our STEM Labs this week.

Lots of learning going on in 4th grade FLES with Ms. Barba!

Lots of smiling CBS faces as we wind down the week.

The CBS Faculty and Staff is ready for the best school year yet! We are bringing the positive energy!

I hope everyone had a great first week back. So happy to see our students so happy.

Did you see the activity at BHS and JFK this morning? HS student athletes getting after it and our MS students coming in for orientation. Everyone getting ready to give their best for the best year yet. It is a wonderful time of the year.

On Wednesday, fifth graders from Kramer Lane and Central Boulevard enjoyed their end of school year trip to Bayville Adventure Park. It was a great opportunity to make new friends as they head to JFK Middle School in September. A great time was had by all.

Opening Night for Peter Pan Jr as our Elementary Drama performance kicks off to a packed house at the BHS Performing Arts Center.

CBS had a fantastic Field Day for our students, filled with fun, excitement, and remarkable displays of sportsmanship. The event was a great success, thanks to the efforts of our dedicated physical education staff and the support of our wonderful CBS PTA.
Throughout the day, students participated in various events demonstrating their team spirit and having fun. Whether it was potato sac races , tug-of-war, ice cream cones, or pizza delivery, every student gave their best effort. The spirit of sportsmanship was evident as students encouraged one another and demonstrated respect and kindness in every competition.

Third graders in Mrs. Sokolowski and Mrs. Wright's class released butterflies as part of their unit study on life cycles. The students were so excited as they bid farewell to the butterflies watching them soar into the sky. Perfect day for a memorable experience!

Mr. Portuese and his students are prepared to host this year's rendition of the popular Maritime Festival for Bethpage Schools' third grade students on May 21, 2024 and May 22, 2024.

Third graders enjoying the Maritime Festival today at BHS. Students had fun interacting with sea life and learning all about marine life. Thank you Bethpage High School Students and staff for guiding our students through the day filled with great activities!
